  1. At one time this church was thatched with rushes. It was burned, and the people attended Mass at the house of Carthy's' the weavers on top of Drumbad Hill.
    One of these Carthys married in Drumgrania, and his brothers at home always let him know when they wanted him, by putting a sheet in a pitch-fork which he could see from Drumgrania.
