    the way our ordinary cake is made. The oat-cake is made with water and salt and the cake the people make now is on milk, salt and soda. First you get oat-meal and a mixing board. Add a pinch of salt and wet it with soft water. The oat-cake has to get a good deal more mixing than any other cake because it is hard got together. It is baked against a baking board and is put before a moderate fire. It takes an hour for baking.
