    he was hit with the tongs. The way to do it was Redden the tongs on the fire and when he would come in he would take the tongs to hit the person who had to make the herrings and it would burn him.
    A person would put a poringer of water on his head and kiss the ground without letting the poringer fall. He was not allowed to touch the poringer with his hand.

  3. If a couple were going to get married, two or three boys would go to the house where the bride lived and they would bring her away to a neighbour's house. Some of those three wanted to marry this girl and which ever of them was going to marry
