  1. Candle-Making
    Long ago, the candles used to be made with rushes. First, rushes are pulled. Then they are peeled and brought into the house to dry on the crook. They are then greased and lit. Long ago at Christmas the people used to make rush candles to put them in a sod of turf and light them.
