    I hope your talent with me will share
    Whilst I endeavour with arden labour
    To sound the praises of the young Gray Mare.
    She first was taken to the Mohill races.
    And there entered for the first prize
    While gallant sports men from every quarter
    Who gave down there names to be advertised
    There was Steward and likwise MurphyThe next came Dolan from Ballinamore
    Any of these would bet their possessions
    She'd win the prize,
    From the other four.
    At their conversation I grew nervous
    When I seen Paul Davis down from Elphin
    He was rejected at the Curragh races,
    The said by magic his horse could win.
