    Although everything points to the fact that Farnaught graveyard dates back to early Christian times, tradition has it that people from all over Gortletteragh, and even from places further south brought their dead to Cloone for burial.
    There was a dead-house in Cloone in those early days and people who came long distances left the corpse there over night and held a wake there, going on to Cloone next morning.
    This dead-house was in a field at present owned by Mr. C. Browne, Cloonee.
