Mac Raghnaill was the ruling Irish family in district in olden times.

Mac Raghnaill was the ruling Irish family in district in olden times.
Portion of their old castle still exists on the eastern shore of Loch Rinn (or Raghnaill) in the grounds of the present castle belonging to Mr Clements.
Is not remembered locally to any great extent, but the name is still common in district.
It is said that the last of the Mac Raghnaill chiefs is buried in Mohill Protestant Churchyard to the east of the entrance gate.
