One night the thieves got a rope and put it around him and let him down a chimney and told him to steal all the money he could get so when he had the money got and handed up to them they opened the rope and let him fall down the chimney again and would not pull him up, but he found a goat skin in the house and put it on him and banged the door until the man of the house got up and opened it for him thinking he was the devil.
