  1. When the sea-gulls fly inland it is a sign of storm. If the smoke goes up straight it is an indication of good weather. When a cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of snow. When swallows fly low it indicates rain. The soot falling also means the approach of rain. When walls get damp it foretells a change in the weather. If you see a rain-bow in the morning it is a sign of rain but a rainbow late in the evening is an indication of good weather. When a cat scrapes wood it is a sign of storm. If you see wild geese flying from the north it foretells snow.
