  1. There are a great number of tailors in the county.
    There is one tailor beside our townland called Carthy in Kiltoghert They have a very good trade there is good clothes and bad clothes brought to them to be fixed
    They who want clothes made have to buy the cloth and thread themselves. Boys who want suits made, buy nice cloth such as tweed or serge.
    There are two tailors in Carthys. In Carthys there are great sales each of the tailors have a sewing machine. There are many dressmakers also, in this district, they make clothes for women and girls also. There lives many of these in Effernaugh, their names are Mrs Mahon, Miss Morrisson, & Mrs Mc Loughlan, and many others also.
