  1. Long ago there were no candles out. The people had to make their own candles. They used to gather rushes, and peel them, and then they used to get grease, and dip them in it then they would put them up in the chimney, and leave them there until they would seasion when they would be seasioned they would take them down and lit them.
    They used to show bad light to the people. There are none of them out now. There were a great number of them out in Ireland long ago.
