  1. When St Caillin was building his monastery at Fenagh an evil spirit pulled down by night what the masons erected by day. St Caillin set a trap for, and caught the Evil One and had him punished before his workmen.
    Then to commemorate his victory over Satan he caused an image of the Serpent's Head, tied by a rope made of stone to be placed on the Eastern gable. This rope and serpent's head are still there.
