  2. I often heard it is not right to meddle with a "lone bush" and that those who did always paid dearly for it. I heard plenty of stories about but I paid no attention to them, and I forgot the old ones.
    The last one I heard was in 1918 or 1920. In some one of these years the people in this district were badly off for turf as fuel. Pee Dolan who lived in Gornawane was almost without turf, so he cut all the bushes that were growing on his own land. He had land on the "11 months take" from Pat Comfry of Mohereregg, and there was a "lone bush" growing on this land. The bush was a great big
