  1. Cures
    When people had the whooping cough he was put under a donkey three times and then the donkey was given some oat, bread to eat and the crumbs which fell from the donkey were boiled on the milk and given to the person who had the cough.
    Another cure for whooping cough is to give a Ferret some milk and whatever he would leave after him to give it to the person and it would cure him.
    When children had the mumps they were cured by a Father or Mother who were of the same surname and if the cure was no good they put a bridle on the child and brought him to the South running stream where he had to drink three sips of the water
    When anyone had a sore throat he got wasted salt and put it in a (ru) woolen sock and tied it round his neck for a cure
