    A Story
At one time John Doherty's house of Shebeg was haunted, by a small man wearing a red coat and a white whisker. Every night this man used to stand behind the door. Other times he used to go up on the loft and throw down potatoes, which were always kept on the loft. He used to quench the candle when the people of the house were milking the cows in the byre.
At one time Johny Flynn who lived there was sick. Every night a drink was left on a table at the bedside for him. One night when he went to take it the man with the whisker came and spilled it. Then the man of the house told him to go to hell. After that the man was never seen. It is about forty years ago since he was seen.
