    "If eggs are set on Good Friday there will be birds in all of them.
    On the 23rd of June a bonfire is lit, in honour of Saint John, and it is lucky to bring a lit cole home and throw it into the potato field, and this will keep away disease.
    On Garland Sunday the Sunday in July it is a custom to have colcannon, or a fowl for the dinner.
    If it rains on Saint Swithen's day, it will rain for forty days and forty nights.
