In the town of Aughrim a family named Moran lived near the fort

In the townland of Aughrimin a family named Moran lived near the fort. The father was often away from home. The woman was getting ready to go to Mass - a man came in, she asked him would she be in time for Mass. He said the people were coming home from Mass.
Then she took off her coat and went out to look for eggs. On her way out she felt a stroke on her forehead and fell dead.
When she was buried her daughters went to live in Gilbanes. When her husband came home he heard of his wife's death.
