  1. Fairy forts are very numerous in my locality and are quite easily traced. In some places these forts are called raths. There are also forts with three rings round them these are called Duns, but they are not as plentiful as the raths, there is only one Dun in my district and it is about one mile and a half from our house.
    Long ago, the chieftain of the place lived in the Dun and the people who were under him lived in raths or forts.
    There is one fort situated in the townland of Creagh about a half a mile from the village of Leitrim on the Drumshanbo road. It lies alongside the road. It is a
