The local patron Saint of this district was saint Clare. There is an old church called by His name. It is no longer used as a [church] as it [was] too small to accommodate the congregation which was daily in creasing. It is now known as St. Clare's Hall.
The old name of this parish is Cloonclare. There was a girl who attended our school called Isabel Clare Lee. She is now in Canada.
