  1. Long ago when the dogs used to go mad there was a very brave man who lived at Glenfarne.
One day he was walking into Manorhamilton, and he saw a mad dog coming from the town to the hospital. There were eight children playing on the road. and the mad dog ran in and out amongst them. The man ran and caught the dog by the legs and killed him against the Workhouse wall. If the dog had bitten him he would have gone mad. He risked his own life so as to save the lives of the eight children. The man was Keany.
