    well. It is said that Columcilles was coming in a boat from Arran to Galway long ago a storm arose and the boat was blown into the shores of Connemara. There is a blessed well there ever since and a lot of people go to that well on Columcille's day the 9th June.
    Near Athenry there is another well. Hundreds of people go to that well on 15th Aug. On that day also thousands of pilgrims go to Knock a lot of people got cured at Knock. The pilgremages to Athenry and to Knock on the 15th Aug are in honour of the Blessed Virgin
