  1. The hide of a cow is salted and then put into a barrel for about three months. After that it is taken out of the barrel and the hair is cut off it. Then it was put near the fire until it was dry and after that it was oiled and pounded with mallets. After that the leather was nailed to a bridge and then there was horsehair put between the lining and and the leather.
