  1. One time there was a woman sick and a member of the family was sent for the priest. As the priest was on the road to the dying woman a voice from inside the fence sang a song called "Cailín Deas Crúite na mBó ". The priest stopped his horse and started listening to the music and forgot the dying woman. When he reached the house the woman was dead and the part of the song which delayed him was:-
"Her voice it was chanting melodious
Which left me scarce able to go.
And my heart it was soothing with sorrow
Says Cailín Deas Crúite na mBó ".
The song was then cursed by the priest and it was never sung again.
