    One morning the maid went out to milk the cows in the fort. She saw gold under a tree. She put her spancil on the branch of one of the trees in the fort to mark the place where the gold was and then went in to tell her master. When they returned again the trees were covered with golden spancils and she could not make out her own one. They searched for the place where the gold was but could not find it.
    There is another story connected with this fort. One night a man in the village dreamt that gold was hidden
