  1. There is a fort situated in Ballyhorgan in the land of Mr Gentleman. This is called the "black fort" because it is right in the centre of the bog and in olden times the fairies were supposed to live there.
    Up to the present day very remarkable things happened there. On one occasion Denny Flaherty a man employed by Mr Gentleman went to cut a tree in the fort. After a time he saw a strange animal like a hare approaching him. This animal
