  1. Fort-field is situated in Mr Power's land in Ballinageragh (a district in Lixnaw parish). On account of the fort being in the field they call it fort-field. The fort is closed in by a hedge of black thorn. There is a huge flag in the centre of it under which there is supposed to be an entrance to an underground tunnel. A couple of men lifted the flag up once but they could not see into it because it was so dark. People say that the "Banshee" used to be heard from that fort to the "Green".
