1. It is related that Mr. O'Connell's men made an attempt to dig up the fort one day but to their dismay they heard lonesome crying and they were afraid to proceed any further with the work and they made no other attempt to dig it up.

2. One night boys went "torching" for birds in this fort. Every bird they met changed into a hen and they dared not kill them. It is said that the thick hedge which surrounds the fort was often seen covered with white clothes put there by the "good people" (the fairies). Lights were seen very often there also.
