    There is a fort also in Ahabeg owned by Pat Costello. It is said that a woman comes from this fort every night as far as Ahabeg Cross. One night as a man was returning home he met her.

    Mary Walshe from Ahabeg was going to Mass one Sunday when she heard a girl singing while milking a cow. She went up on the ditch of the fort but she could not see anyone. Suddenly she fell down and got paralysed and had to be taken home Fr. Roche was brought to her. She got well again but ever after she had a lame step and she never
