A group of girls from the village of Lixnaw went to Liosuachtar picking haws, when they had their pockets full they went towards the gap but seated there was a man with his head bandaged. They passed him but when they were gone some distance he followed them. They ran to the road there they met an old woman whose name was Norry Harte. They told her what had happened and she stood on
