Another story is told about some little boys and amongst them a little lad some years younger than the rest who went to Liosuachtar picking haws (the berries of the whitethorn bush). This little boy's name was Flaherty - he lived in the centre of the village near where Cotters live now. His mother warned him not to go near the fort but the little fellow had no sense for he was only five years so he followed the other little boys. When they had the haws picked they returned home.
