  1. About forty years ago, there lived near Lixnaw, an extensive farmer, in whose land, there was a fort, and quite near it an orchard. Many boys, tried to steal the apples. One night they went to the orchard for this purpose. They heard a strange noise, but they took no notice of it. When they began to pick the apples, every apple they picked, turned into a leaf. One of the boys went up to the top of a tree for some apples
