  1. About sixty years ago, two men, natives os Lixnaw, planned that whoever dies first would return to earth, and tell his experiences to the other. It happened that the younger of the two dies shortly after. It happened that about a week after the funeral, the dead man appeared to his friend and told him that he had three minutes to spend in Purgatory, and the sufferings were so great
