  1. One day a tinker was going along the road and he saw the devil following after him. He asked the devil what he wanted and the devil said he had to follow him where ever he went. When the tinker heard that he locked the devil in his box.
He brought the devil to a forge and bet five pounds to the blacksmith that he would not put a hole in his box.
The blacksmith tried but failed. The tinker got five pounds and went off. Then the devil was angry with the tinker and asked where he was going and the tinker said going to another forge. But the devil objected and the tinker drowned him in a river.
