  1. Over 30 or 60 years ago there were market’s held in Monirea, on all Fridays of the year. To these market’s the farmers brought their bonhams, potatoes, cabbage plant’s and sometimes turnips and the women brought all kinds of fowl, butter and eggs. Those market’s were better than the market’s now because all the farmer’s attended. In other places the people went to a fair or market but they exchanged a pig for a certain amount of potatoes and a horse for a cow and other animals as well.
