The "gobán saor" was a great mason famous for building castles and palaces in the olden times he was known to be terrible witty and so was his wife. At tone time he went to England to build a palace for a certain king. The palace was made beautiful and the king made up his mind that when it would be finished that the gobán saor should die so as there would be no other palace like it in the land. When leaving home his wife told him always to keep friendly with the women so the servants told him of the plot so the plan he tried to get free was to tell the king that he could not finish the palace without a certain tool that was at home and that nobody could get it but the king's son. He told the king's son to go the wife to get the tool "straight and crooked", and crooked and straight, the wife knew the meaning of it
