St Brigids Eve.
On Brigids Eve the young people used to go around dressed up with masks on their faces, dancing and singing “go leor” They used to have a little small doll like Brigid, when they would go into a house they had a rhyme to say, :-
“Here is Brigid dressed in white give us a penny in honour of the night.”
St Patrick’s Day.
On Patrick’s Day the old people used to go to public houses “to drown the shamrock” and drink enough.
May Day.
On May day the old people used to say it was unlucky to give milk away, or to throw out ashes. - The animals on the farm are cow, calves, sheep, pigs hens, ducks geese and turkeys
