  1. He was reared in Clough and spent his life there. He heard the story from years ago. He was years at that time. He was living also in Clough.
    The treasure was found in Mr. Hardiman's field in the townland of Clough. It was Queen Maeve that hid it about a half a mile from Bauvan castle because she was afraid the soldiers would get it. She was running from the soldiers and she could not bring all her gold with her. No attempts were ever made to find it. A cannon ball was put through the castle of Bauvan and Maeve and her attendants went away and brought all her gold and valuables with her.
