- The names of the fields in Egan's farm, Ballinalahy, Menlough Co. Galway are.
"The Triangle", was so called as there were three corners in it.
"The Poll", was so called as water rose in it.
"The High field", was on a great height and it was hard to get to it.
"The Móinín", was covered with heather.
"The Course", it is said that in the olden times races were held in it.
Not far from them is another field known as Kilfillig. This is a place where a landlord was shot some years ago.
Also near that field is a graveyard known as the "Cilleachán", where infants are buried.
Kavanaghs farm Lismoyle, Mt. Bellew.
"Garraidh Árd", because it is very high and there is an old house on it where people lived one time.
"Móinín Mór", This is so called because it is a five acre field.
