  1. There are six forges in this parish. The names of the Smiths who own those forges are John Dolly, John Ruane, Patrick Ruane, Patrick MacDonagh, Malachy Ruane and Peter Dolly.
    Those Smiths fathers and grandfathers had this trade for many years. Two of those forges are slated and there is a window and a door in each of them.
    The smith shoes horses and donkeys and he makes all kinds of farm implements. The implements the smith works when making those things are the hammers, the pinchers, the vice, drill, sledge, rasp, shoeing knife, tyre-bender, tyre upsetter, anvil, tongs,
