  1. Long ago the people used to have the fairs in fields and hills, and now the people have the fairs in big towns.
    There is a place called Cnoc na Grádh about one mile from my house, where fairs were held long ago.
    When a person is selling a beast they always get what they call "a luck penny", so that the beast would be lucky. This is always given to the man that buys the beast and it is usually 1/=, 2/= or 5/= a head.
