  1. The potatoes are stored in a pit out in the field. They put straw over them, then scraws and clay.
    There are different kinds of potatoes such as, Arran Banners, Arran Piltots,
    May Queens, Dukes of York, Epicures, British Queens, Great Scots, Arran Victories, Kerr's pinks, King Edwards and Sharps Express. Starch was made from potatoes long ago, and nowadays they make potatoe cake.
