    Care of Feet. 8-6-'38
    The old people have old words for parts of a shoe such as, taoibhín for a piece on the side of a shoe. barracín for a piece on the top. Cúilín for a piece on the back.
    There were much more shoe - makers long ago because there were no shoes sold in the shops. Every man had to go to the shoe - maker to take his measure for his shoe.
    Long ago the people wore clogs because they were much cheaper than shoes, but they found out that they were bad for the health, and they began wearing leather shoes. These clogs were made of timber.
