  1. There was a man in Ballagh whose name was Pat Devany, he was nicknamed Mockoney. He used to tell a story about Colmcilles prophecy, he used to say that we would have a religious war that would nearly kill all the people of Ireland and that men would be so scarce, that the sick man in bed would be turned 3 times to see if he would be able to go out and fight.
    He ' a stocking of oatmeal would be more valuable than a stocking of gold in those days, and he also said that no one will be saved but those who will go to a place called the Corrahaun in Windfield.
