  1. The old people used to do a lot of queer things at the Wakes long ago.
    There was a young boy living in Menlough 10 years ago. He used to go to all the Wakes, and he would be always singing and shouting. When the Priest heard the way he was conducting himself he forbade him to go to any Wake.
    The next wake all the people fell asleep during the night and the wild fellow came to the house and stole the corpse and he brought it to a sand-pit. It was not very long until the fellow that hid it was suspected and he was told to bring back the corpse so he did.
