- Chicken-um-clock
One child sits on a chair to represent "the fox". All the other players stand in a row behind another child whom they call "the mother" hen. They march around "the fox" two or three times while the mother recites the following rhyme.
Chicken-um-clock-um clock
I sold my buttermilk every drop
If I had more I'd sell it in score
What a clock is it now old hag
Then they stop and "the mother" says to "the fox"
