John Lyons (deceased) of Ballyhorgan, Lixnaw, went one night torching up Gentleman's Avenue, Ballyhorgan - (Gentleman, Protestant - planter.)
The place is supposed to be haunted.
John Lyons killed a few birds and was about to kill a thrush when the latter spoke "Na buail na buail." Simultaneously a cold hand slapped his face, and the torch was flung from his hand.
He was an invalid for 3 months, but was never in the better of the shock.
