    slate a new kind of slate came out now called asbestos and another kind of slate called tiles and these are put in new houses and they look much nicer and better than thatched roofing:mud floor are out of fashion now.
    Lamps
    The people long ago had very queer lamps.
    They used dip splinters into parafin oil and light them and stick them in the walls and they used show them great light. Other people used the white of rushes into a bottle of lampoil these were lit and showed wonderful light and a short time afterwards the lamps came into fashion.
