The Care of the Feet II

Long ago children did not wear shoes up to the age of 11 years and when they got shoes they were only worn on very special occasions.
Some people never wore shoes but loapeens. They were very funny looking. They were made of skins and were very hairy looking outside they were shaped like a stocking. the old ladies looked very gay with the tops of their long toes coming out and some of them used to paint their toes the same colour as the loapeens.
