Long ago little girls used to make chains or necklaces from flowers. First the flowers were picked; then the stems were taken off and a thread drawn through the centre of each flower. They were fixed in different ways the backs and fronts arranged alternately. The principal flower used was the daisy and sometimes the petals were picked off and nothing left but the yellow disc.
