  1. Another craft was nail-making by hand. Tom Fetten in Abbeyfeale used to make all kinds of nails, and the nail maker in Listowel was Morris. A small forge, a bellows, a hammer and an anvil were necessary. It was very hard work. The rod iron had to be heated in the fire and while he was making one nail, the other was heating, so the work had to be done very quickly to keep both going.
